Anna Zemánková ist eine der weltweit bedeutendsten Künstlerinnen der Art Brut. Im Jahr 2013 wurde ihr Werk im internationalen Pavillon der Biennale von Venedig gezeigt. Sie begann im Alter von 52 Jahren zu zeichnen. Ihr Werk entwickelte sich zu einem Repertoire von floralen und insektenartigen Formen vor flachen, sanft atmosphärischen Hintergründen. Der seltsame Rhythmus in den Zeichnungen ist von Musik beeinflusst, die als tragende und verbindende Struktur dient.

Anna Zemánková is one of the world’s most important artist of Art Brut. In 2013 her work was shown in the international Pavillon of the Venice Biennale. She started drawing in the age of 52. Her work evolved into a repertoire of floral and insectlike forms set against flat, softly atmospheric backgrounds. The strange rhythm contained in the drawings is influenced by music as its supporting and unifying structure.
